Ghana Police Arrest 186 Suspects in Major Crackdown on Organized Crime
Ghanaian police have arrested 186 individuals during a large-scale operation targeting organized criminal activities across the country.
According to authorities, those arrested include 86 Ghanaian nationals, 96 Nigerians, and four citizens of Togo. The operation focused on dismantling suspected criminal networks linked to human trafficking, sexual exploitation, drug trafficking, illegal firearms possession, and other related offenses.
Law enforcement officials reported that several victims were rescued during the raids, including minors who have since been placed under protective care and are receiving support from relevant agencies.
The foreign nationals arrested are currently undergoing immigration procedures, with some facing possible repatriation to their home countries.
Police officials emphasized that investigations remain ongoing as authorities work to identify and apprehend additional members of the suspected criminal organizations.
The operation highlights Ghana's continued efforts to combat transnational crime and strengthen public safety through coordinated law enforcement actions.
